Letter from the President of WACUBO

The past year has been fraught with many unforeseen economic challenges facing higher education. It is times like this that remind us all to maintain the investment in our professional development. The investment in yourself is critical to you and the university or college that you serve.

We welcome your application for the 2010 Executive Leadership and Management Institute, to be held at USC. The ELMI is one of the premier institutes offered by WACUBO and designed for those in higher education who need to function successfully within the culture, structures, and values of colleges and universities, whether they are large or small, public or private, four-year or community colleges.

Geographically, the Institute draws participants from throughout the nation, its territories and abroad. Professionally, participants come from many backgrounds. The Institute has enrolled administrative/finance vice presidents, provosts, directors of personnel services, university police chiefs; academic deans; research administrators; public relations officials, campus architects, bookstore directors, physical plant staff; directors of statewide associations, and fiscal staff in state higher education commissions. This diversity greatly enriches the Institute’s sessions and provides a broad perspective on higher education.
