Welcome from the President of WACUBOThe 2008-09 academic year has been fraught with many unforeseen economic challenges facing higher education. It is times like this that remind us all to maintain the investment in our professional development. The investment in yourself is critical to you and the university or college that you serve. We at WACUBO welcome your application for the 2009 Executive Leadership and Management Institute at Stanford University. The ELMI is one of the premier institutes offered by WACUBO and designed for those in higher education who need to function successfully within the culture, structures, and values of colleges and universities, whether they are large or small, public or private, four-year or community colleges. Geographically, the Institute draws participants from throughout the nation, its territories and abroad. Professionally, participants come from many backgrounds. The Institute has enrolled administrative/finance vice presidents, provosts, directors of personnel services, university police chiefs; academic deans; research administrators; public relations officials, campus architects, bookstore directors, physical plant staff; directors of statewide associations, and fiscal staff in state higher education commissions. This diversity greatly enriches the Institute’s sessions and provides a broad perspective on higher education. WACUBO is a member organization that thrives on institutional involvement. We invite your participation in this unique experience.
Cynthia Teniente-Matson,
We welcome your application for 2009. Please read all web pages associated with the ELMI and then, to apply, send an e-mail to whpickens@aol.com. In that email, include your name, position title, campus or agency, office address, telephone, email address, a description of current position’s responsibilities (a resume is fine if these are included), and the names of two individuals on campus who currently know you well.
