COMMENTS ABOUT THE INSTITUTE OVER THE YEARS“If I had had this experience 15 years ago, I’d be a VP now.” “This experience is very rich. In my six years as a dean, this is by far the best professional development experience I have had.” “The Institute is a great opportunity to become more aware of the complexities of a campus and how to deal effectively with them as a leader.” “The Institute was a great experience. Its emphasis on introspection and serious conversations helped me to make some long over due decisions about my career. The ELMI was truly a turning point in my life.” “I found the Institute very carefully planned, well managed, and educationally excellent. The participants included women and men in higher education from across the country. I was the only one attending from a theological seminary and I was the only President who was a participant. …Clearly, it is not aimed toward theological education and, in fact, more of the participants come from large universities than from small institutions of higher education. However, those of us from smaller institutions were in no way neglected and I was encouraged to be an active participant in the issues facing me as well as becoming a part of the agenda of the Institute." “A premier institute for college and university administrators.
