The WACUBO Board of Directors is pleased to announce the 2017-18 WACUBO Mentoring Program that will run from April 2017-April 2018. This year-long program is designed for aspiring chief business officers (CBOs) and chief financial officers (CFOs) whose next role would likely be a CBO or CFO. Mentees will be matched one-to-one with experienced, senior-level CBOs/CFOs who will serve as mentors.

The WACUBO Mentoring Program is intended to build bench strength in those headed for CBO and CFO roles by supporting their professional development and through leveraging the expertise and talent of senior CBOs and CFOs in the region. The program will provide an excellent opportunity for professional development and networking, and it will increase engagement among our WACUBO membership.

Program components and associated timeline are as follows:

  • Orientation workshop, in person: April 29, Seattle, prior to Annual Conference.
  • Monthly virtual one-on-one mentor/mentee meetings: May 2017-April 2018; timing to be arranged between the mentor and mentee.
  • Closing workshop, in person: April 28, 2018, Anaheim, prior to Annual Conference.

Throughout and by the end of the year-long WACUBO Mentoring Program, mentees will participate in regular mentoring sessions with a senior level mentor, and engage in meaningful dialogues on topics such as developing as a leader in higher education, navigating change and transitions, building key relationships, and personal branding.
