Leadership Symposium

Join us for this 1½-day symposium for professionals in higher education business roles focused on developing key management and leadership skills. Managers in mid-career positions who aspire to further advance their roles in higher education are encouraged to attend this symposium. Meet with successful leaders in higher education and participate in activities designed to build the skills necessary for continued career advancement. Learn how to deploy leadership skills that enhance achieving goals.

  • Participants will learn techniques for improved business communication and networking, and how to implement those techniques in order to attain improved working relationships across campus.
  • Participants will learn how to deploy leadership skills that will advance effectiveness on campus, and be given the opportunity to build a circle of colleagues to keep in contact with after the event.
  • Participants will understand the skills needed for leadership and advancement, and ways to engage their employees and peers to improve effectiveness and build necessary experience.

Pre-Conference Workshop: Data-Driven Decision Making and How to Present Data

This year's event will also feature the opportunity for participants to register for a half-day preconference workshop. Featuring the instructors from one of WACUBO's most popular workshop, the program will focus on how to use data in decision-making, and how to present data for use at varying levels of the institution. Learn to tailor your information to your audience, while effectively delivering your message.

  • Participants will learn the methodologies and tools available for gathering and evaluating data.
  • Participants will learn to assess the results of an analysis and determine how to build the results into daily decisionmaking.
  • Participants will learn to use reporting, graphs and other tools to make decision, advocate for change, and show results.
