Meals and Dietary Restrictions
Sunday's 70th Anniversary Reception
Kick off this year's BMI by joining us for the WACUBO 70th Anniversary Reception, sponsored by Wipfli, on Sunday, August 2! We will be gathering on the Club Terrace, starting at 5:30 PM, for a celebration to honor the legacy of BMI. Heavy appetizers and beer/wine are on the menu - and a registration desk will be set up for your convenience.
Dinner
There are WACUBO-hosted buffet dinners on Monday, August 3 and Wednesday, August 5. These dinners have some options labeled on the buffet for special dietary needs. The UCSB catering staff has been made aware of your dietary needs specified during registration. When onsite, please be certain to self-identify to one of the catering staff working the event and they will bring the alternative planned meal to you.
- Monday evening’s dinner is at the University Center (UCEN) on Lagoon Plaza.
- Tuesday evening’s dinner is on your own. For those looking to dine with other BMI attendees, there will be a sign-up sheet in the WACUBO office.
- Wednesday evening’s Fiesta is on Las Encinas Quad at Manzanita Village.
There are other dining options available on campus, but options are limited during the summer.
Lunch
If you are staying in on-campus housing (Manzanita Village), you do NOT need to purchase lunch tickets; breakfast and lunch are included in your campus housing package. For all attendees, lunch is only included in your regular registration for Wednesday.
Dining commons menus will be posted online one week in advance and you may use the Net Nutrition tool to identify common allergens and determine foods for your dietary preferences. Please see lunch locations based on Tracks below.
- Track 1 Lunch Location: De la Guerra Dining Commons
- Tracks 2 and 3 Lunch Location: Carrillo Dining Commons
If you choose to take lunch on your own Monday and/or Tuesday, there are a few fast-food outlets open during the summer in the UCEN.
If you are not staying in Manzanita Village and have not purchased a lunch ticket, you can still purchase a lunch ticket for Monday and/or Tuesday ($15/day). Please email the WACUBO office to add this option to your registration or connect with WACUBO staff onsite.

Off-Campus Housing, Transportation, and Parking
If you are staying off-campus in a hotel or other accommodations, you should have booked your own reservation.
There is no organized transportation from off-campus hotels. BMI participants with cars may be willing to drive others to campus.
Parking is $8/day.
If you are staying off-campus and drive to campus, you will need to follow the below parking permit instructions.
- Parking permits are required on campus at all times, and guests will need to purchase a parking permit if they are bringing a vehicle to campus. ePermits are issued to the license plate displayed on the vehicle, license plate must be visible from the drive aisle and are valid only in the parking lot where the ePermit is purchased. ePermits can be purchased using the ParkMobile app and website (https://app.parkmobile.io/login) or through ePermit Pay Stations located throughout the parking structures. If purchasing through ParkMobile, use the zone number that is posted where you park. If purchasing through the ePermit Pay Stations, you have the option to purchase a multiday permit. Follow the prompts on the screen till you see the “Summer Conference” option.
- The two primary ON-CAMPUS parking locations for conference attendees are Parking Structure 18 and 22 (we recommend 22 for BMI) (Interactive Campus Map). Do NOT park in the Coastal Access spots near the entrance to Structure 22. Please note that guests will NOT be able to use their Structure 18 or 22 permits to parking in Lot 3 for registration and the opening dinner. Lot 3 is a faculty/staff lot during weekdays and becomes a visitor lot after 5:00pm during the week. If participants would like to park in Lot 3 on Monday night after 5:00pm, they would need to purchase a permit specifically for Lot 3 from the dispenser in that lot.
- Information about Disabled Parking can be found here. Please note that a Disabled placard issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles is not a substitute for a campus permit.

Course Evaluations and CPE Credentials
Evaluations
Course evaluations will be sent out at the end of each day. These will be a quick survey for you to share your thoughts. Kindly keep an eye out for an email with the daily course evaluations link. There will also be a BMI overall evaluation to complete after the conference has ended that will be sent via the same method.
CPE Credentials
We will be using a tool called Conferences i/o to help us track attendance and issue CPE certificates for this workshop.
Courses will appear in Conference i/o by Monday, August 3. Attendees will not be able to begin checking into courses until, at most, 10 minutes prior to the start of a course.
For those who wish to obtain CPE credits, please review the short tutorial video below on how our new CPE tracking software will assist you in earning your CPEs. For successful CPE tracking, WACUBO is asking that you bring a mobile device (phone or tablet) or a laptop computer to access this web-based tracking software.
Learn more and watch the brief tutorial on how Conferences i/o will work. Please note, this video was created for the WACUBO 2022 Annual Conference, but we thought it might be helpful.
You can earn up to 14 CPE credits throughout BMI. To earn these credits, you will need to access the CPE tracking software, Conference i/o, where you will be asked to check in and check out of each course you attend. CPEs are not offered for the General Session. Tracking your CPEs will involve scanning a QR code (also included on your badge insert) with your mobile device or entering a URL on your computer to access the website for checking in and out. In the event you must leave a session for any reason, you must check out. You may check back into the session if you return. Your total time in each session will be calculated and added up to receive credit for your attendance.
CPE certificates will be sent out within 4 weeks of the conclusion of the event.
It is important to note that once a session has concluded or you have been signed out, WACUBO is unable to retroactively credit you for attending. It is critical that you check in and check out in every session. QR codes will be available at each session room door and in rolling slide presentations throughout the conference.
In order to complete the requirements for CPE you will need to use the internet browser on your computer or mobile device to access Conferences i/o. If you are using a smartphone or tablet you can simply point your device's camera at the QR code displayed in each room, or open your browser and navigate to wacubo.cnf.io and then click on the title for each session.
Once you arrive at the session page, you will enter your name and the email address that you used to register with. A timestamp is captured when you check in to a session. Important note: Do not close your tab on your web browser or close out of the app on your tablet or phone while in each session.
At the end of the session, or if you leave early and do not intend to return, please make sure to click the "check out" button within Conferences i/o.

Additionally, please wear comfortable shoes for walking, as there may be times when you need to move between locations.
