The expectation is that the scholarship recipients would continue their participation (and/or increase participation from their institution) in WACUBO activities. The scholarship recipient must have the support of their institution to cover travel costs and may be publicly acknowledged as a winner at the WACUBO event.
Additionally, upon completion of the program, we may ask the recipient to participate in a brief survey that describes the value of the program to their professional development. We will use your feedback to improve our process and programs.
The scholarship application is managed via a form contained within WACUBO's platform. Please note that you will need to be linked to your institution to be recognized as a member in order to apply, and know your username and password. If you have issues accessing the form, please reach out to [email protected].
Once you log in, some of your information may auto-populate. Please feel free to update any information on this form as needed. Additionally, although there is no "save" button on the form, your work is saved on this form until you hit "submit" if you do not complete the application in one sitting. If you would like to preview the form, you can download a pdf of the questions.
Each of the three constituent groups reviews, evaluates, and awards the scholarships for their member institutions based on the scholarship program goals outlined above. The three constituent groups are:
(1) Small Institution;
(2) the Community College;
(3) the Comprehensive, Doctoral, and Research Institution (CDRIC).
If you work for a Governing Board or System Office, your application will be reviewed by the constituent group that aligns most closely with your system. Constituent committees will approve only one scholarship per calendar year per institution or one scholarship per individual per three years, regardless of the event requested. If two individuals from the same institution apply for a scholarship for the same event, the constituent committee will decide which applicant best aligns with the scholarship program goals. If a scholarship has been awarded to an individual from an institution within the calendar year for a different WACUBO event, then that application will not be accepted for consideration.
The WACUBO Office will notify recipients of the results of their application on behalf of their respective Constituent Group Chair, typically within 2 weeks of the application deadline - as listed below.
For full consideration, scholarship applications must be received on or before the deadlines below:
